The flu bug

Yup, that is right, the flu bug has hit our home. Mainly Wayne and I, but the kids do all have coughs. I must say having both parents out of commission has made parenting a bit difficult. The house is a mess and my kids are not getting very nutrious meals. I have to say they are living on banana's, waffles, apples, crackers, and canned green beans. Hey, at least we are feeding them! The really sad part is that we had a bunch of activities planned for this week. Yesterday, we were supposed to go a pizza fundraiser, today Kya and Seth were scheduled to see the dentist for the first time and then go over to Pump It Up for a couple hours of jumping fun, then tomorrow a play date with a bunch of my mommy friends and their kids. We had to cancel it all, which also means nothing new for my blog. :(

A fun day at the park

Since yesterday was such a beautiful day, Wayne and I decided to taked the kids to the park. It seemed to be a pretty popular place and Kya had a lot of fun playing with her *new friends*. Then we came home to eat, nap and then play outside until dark. You would think with all the fun outdoor activity that the kids would have gone to bed early..............yeah right!

Indoor Park

For Christmas, the kids Great Grandparents got Seth an indoor/outdoor play thing, or as Kya calls it, the indoor park. It has a teepee, a dome tent and two tubes that you can crawl through. This thing is huge and is currently in my living room! (We haven't put up the tent yet, cause there just isn't much room for it. Anyway, both Seth and Kya LOVE to play in this as you can see by the pictures below. Thanks, Bob and Grandma!

Seth and the ladder

Everyone told me how adventerous boys are and Seth has decided to not proove them wrong. We are doing some electrical work in our house, hence the reason for the ladder in my living room. Seth decided to climb it and then proceeded to get up on the part made to hold the paint can/tools. As you can tell by his face, he did not know how to get down on his own. silly boy

Family Picture

Well, I still don't have any pictures from Christmas to share with you, but I do have our beautiful family portrait. Here the kids are: Kya 2 1/2 years, Seth 17 months and Elsie 2 months.





And just because I needed to play with my new camera and because Elsie turned 3 months yesterday. Here she is sleeping in her swing.

Happy New Year!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update. My camera broke on Christmas morning, so I don't have any pictures...yes, I am very sad. Luckily, my brother took a bunch that evening, so once he sends them to me I will be sure to post some. We did however go out and buy a new camera last night and I cannot wait to learn how to use it.

Our New Years Eve was very nice and quiet. My parents and a friend came over for dinner and then we went to church to watch a new movie with Randy Travis. It should be out in theaters soon. The movie is called The Wager and it is pretty good. It was a little hard to follow at times and maybe a bit too dark, but it did have a good message. Then we came back to my house for some desert. I was in bed by 10:30, so needless to say I missed the whole ringing in of the new year, but that was fine with me. Sleep these days are much more important. :)
