Saturday we celebrated Seth's 4th birthday with a Spider-man party. The first thing everyone did was to go out and ride horses. In hind site, this probably wasn't the best thing to do in 104 degree heat, as all the kids came in with bright red faces and the adults came in feeling weak and dehydrated. Once we got everyone feeling better again, it was time to play with water! For party favors, the kids all received a Spider-man squirt gun and Seth received a Spider-man sprinkler from us to play in. Ha, relief on a scorching hot day!
Seth and Caleb cool down by squirting each other.
Wayne got his hands on a Spidey gun and began squirting all the kids. He is really just a big kid at heart!
Then we came in for some Burgers & "Flies" along with some other yummy "bug/spider" food; followed by Seth's favorite....the opening of his gifts. He received a lot of Toy Story and Spider-man toys, as well as some fun outdoor water toys.
Grandpa and Grandma got him this oh so cool big wheel. He loves it! Maybe a little too much, as he is a bit possessive of it.
Time for cupcakes and a wish. He blew out all four candles!
A look at the food and decor:
Cupcakes with Spider-man toppers. I found this clip art online and it became the theme decor for everything from invitations to food tags.
The food table with the Spider-man squirt guns and cups.
Fun food: Bugs on a log made with celery, cheese wiz, peanut butter and raisins
Flypaper: Fruit leather with raisins. I wish I had something to hang them on to make them look more realistic.
Spider-web tea: Peach tea
Bug Juice: Juicy Juice in a box
