Wedding Date Night

Recently Wayne and I went to a wedding for one of his former guitar students. The invitation said it was "cocktail dress", so even though neither one of us really cares much for dressing up, it was fun to do so for a night. I even wore heels, which is big for me!
Ah, such a sweet couple!

I wore this top last year to a cousins wedding, but with pants.  I really liked it though with a skirt.

Elsie's in the Newpaper!

Elsie and the other mutton busters did an exhibition ride at the Norco Mounted Posse PRCA Rodeo. She rode on both Friday and Saturday nights to a packed house. It was the largest crowd she has ever had the chance to compete in front of and she loved every minute of it. And now, she is famous! It was very exciting for her to have several people come up and tell her how they saw her picture in the newspaper and one even joked about wanting her autograph.

This is what the reporter had to say about our lil' mutton busters: "Youth attempted to leap astride sheep during the mutton busting round, earning plenty of laughs as they were pitched into the dirt."

1st Day of School

The kids are back in school (I know, so early!) and getting older by the minute. I can't believe that my youngest is in 2nd grade already and that my oldest is only a couple years away from middle school (although I can't think about that just yet).  For the first time ever, I have all three kids at the same school and it is making life so much easier for this Mama!  We are now walking to and from school daily, which allows us to avoid the crazy drop off/pick up traffic mess, gives us a bit more exercise and saves money on gas.  Win-Win!

Taking out traditional 1st day of school picture.  My 2nd, 4th and 3rd graders!

And what did Mama do on the first day?  Take is easy of course!  My sister-n-law gave me a gift card for Starbucks and I took great advantage of it.  I got myself a Venti Non-Fat Vanilla Latte, No Foam with Whip and a spinach, feta, egg white wrap on whole wheat tortilla.  Yum!  Then I walked around our outdoor mall where I learned about a free yoga class that my girlfriends and I are now doing weekly, followed by getting a book at the library and sitting my butt down to read all day long.  Perfect my friends, just perfect!

Of course, Friday was a day of cleaning all traces of Summer fun away and getting the house back in order.
