Red Hill Park

On Saturday, my mom drove out here for the first time since her foot surgery. She said she felt up for a day at the park, so we headed out to a new park for us, Red Hill Park. It is a fairly large park (as parks go), with 2 playground, several baseball diamonds, a workout trail and a pond with ducks and turtles. Not having been there before, I parked at the first playground area which turned out to be at the opposite end of where the pond was. We let the kids play there for a bit before walking down the path to the other end of the park. My mom said it was a 2 mile walk, but it was really only 1/2 a mile! Still, I think it was the longest she had walked since her surgery.
We made it to the duck pond where the kids fed the duck some stale Cheddar Chex Mix.

The turtle ran away as soon as they saw us, but these two boys were able to catch a couple for the kids to pet.

Then we climbed up the hill to only roll down it again!

Then we made friends with a little dog.

And Elsie decided to follow the dog where she and her owner went.

After feeding the ducks, we made our way over to the 2nd playground where Seth sat on an Elephant

and climbed up these block things

Elsie rode her horsey ride

and was all smiles while swinging

Kya made some new friends and told them lots of stories while they played with sand inside this "house"

Elsie came over to play some too

While Seth adventured through this tunnel

Afterwards we went to McDonald's for lunch and to play some more in their play area before heading home for a much needed nap.
