Happy Mothers Day

I had a wonderful Mothers Day! After I went to sleep on Saturday, Wayne stayed up and cleaned the living room and kitchen (I went to bed at 8:30 due to being exhausted after the beach & just left the house in shambles). Then I was woken up by having breakfast brought to me in bed, complete with flowers and a homemade card. After church we picked up lunch at the To Go counter at Chilis and came home to eat it, so that we could avoid the crowds and the kids could still have their naps on time. Because we saw my mom the day before, we were able to stay home and relax. I would have to say it was the perfect Mothers Day!

Summer Haircuts

Not sure if you noticed in the previous post, but we got a family haircut on Friday. Well, actually just Kya, Seth and myself. Elsie will need a haircut soon to even things out, but since I can still pull it up into pigtails, I am going to keep growing it out for a while. Kya's hair was almost down to her waist and getting thin on the bottom, plus it was a major chore to brush out all her tangles everyday. Seth was getting very shabby and since his parents cut his hair at home, it was very uneven to say the least. Here is a before picture from last week.
And Kya's new look! I think she looks so much older and like a little surfer girl. It definitely looks much healthier now. And for those wondering if her Daddy approved of the short hair, it was his idea and he loves it.

It is hard to see Seth's hair, but it is basically very short on the sides and back. The top is just a bit longer. When I put gel in it and comb it straight back, it goes into a natural fou-hawk (I have no clue how to spell this) just like when he was a newborn.

Mommy went ahead and cut her hair too. I originally went in for a blunt cut bob, but at the last minute decided to get bangs too. I regret the bangs. I have a calic and so the bangs split in the middle and stick strait up. So I will be having to put it back like this with bobby pins until it grows out.
