Adventures in Camping and Rodeo Fun

The kids had a back to back rodeo competition, so of course it was a great excuse to camp at the rodeo grounds with our bull riding family. It was a very fun, dirty & adventurous weekend. Wayne had a mandatory training at work, so the kids and I pulled the tent trailer out in hopes of getting it all set up. Yah right! The ground was SUPER soft and I ended up getting our truck stuck. Luckily one of the other dad's had a 4x4 truck and was able to pull me out. Then the tent trailer sunk into the ground. Fun! I called Wayne and told him to bring out some boards to put the front wheel and jacks on, then when he arrived he and some other men were able to get everything situated.

I have no pictures of the truck getting stuck, but trust me it was quite a sight to see an entire team of lil' cowboys trying to get us out (before the dad with the truck came to our rescue) and the HUGE amount of dirt in the air from the wheels spinning, but I understand another mom took plenty of pictures that will be on our end of year banquet.

Once we got the tent trailer put together, it made for a very nice place to sleep and prepare our food.  Although, we will be using an actual tent when we camp again out here.
It was a pretty hot weekend and I felt blessed to be able to use the covered stage instead of having to sit in the grandstands directly in the sun.  We felt like VIP's.

My parents came out on Sunday to cheer on our lil' rodeo stars.  Neither kid covered their animal this weekend, but they are learning and loving the experience.
Camping with other country folks wouldn't be complete without their pet goat.  Pretty funny!
Elsie and her competition.  These sheep were on an adrenaline high or something this weekend.  Not a slow one in the bunch!

All the little kids cowboys heading back to the shoots after the prayer and National Anthem.  "Let's Go Boys!"
