Seth's Birthday and Lytle Creek

Today, my little boy turned four years old. I say this every year with every child, but where does the time go? I told Seth that I would make him pancakes for breakfast, but he had decided he wanted the one day old leftover donuts from his daddy's birthday breakfast. So, that is what we had. :-)
Make a wish!

After breakfast and relaxing around the house, we headed up to Lytle Creek for a BBQ lunch and to play in the creek.

Kya took this picture of us. Even though we are in the shadows, I am impressed at how she was able to look through the eyepiece and get us pretty centered.

Is this not a pretty picture of Elsie? I am totally going to frame this.

Elsie and Daddy hiking back to the picnic table after being down by the creek.

I have always said that my son would never own a gun, toy or real. But I have come to realize that boys will turn anything into a gun. Here Seth is using our BBQ lighter to hunt out rustlers. At least he has a good imagination and knows not to point at any human or animal.

After lunch, it was time to play in the creek!

Due to all the shadows, this picture is hard to see, but it is the kids and I posing in front of a small waterfall tucked inside the trees. I will have to do a separate post of the silly faces Kya has started to make whenever a camera comes out, but if you enlarge this picture you can get a sneak peak. lol

After walking (and slipping) thru the creek, we came to this little pool area where the kids played and splashed before heading home.

On the way home we drove down this one street to see the donkeys, only to find that one of them had a baby! I love how the baby continued to nurse while Seth petted his mama.

We came home and the kids all took long naps. When Seth woke up I asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he chose pizza followed by a bowl of chocolate ice cream. A favorite for us all.

Then he and Elsie went out to ride the horses. Kya later did to, but only after I had come in with my camera.
Don't worry folks, we plan on getting her a real cowboy hat soon. tee-hee-hee

Saturday we will be having Seth's birthday party, so be sure to come back then. Happy 4th Birthday my sweet Seth!
