Happy 4th Birthday Elsie!

Elsie's actual birthday was today, but we celebrated with the family yesterday. She decided on a Ice Cream Social party, which made for an easy party to throw. We started off with Pizza Hut pizza's, a garden salad and chips. After a while, we went out for the pinata.

Elsie really wanted an ice cream pinata, but when we went to the store, they said they were all out of them. So I had convinced her to get a cupcake one, when lo and behold, an ice cream one was hidden way in the back shelf. Oh my Elsie was soooo happy!

Here is the birthday girl taking the 1st swing.

All the kids lined up and waiting their turn in the shade and out of the way from the hitter.

Abigail all ready to strike!

I thought it was funny how the adults all lined up on the porch to watch.

Grace had the final hit before all the candy came flying out!

Chocolate!!!

Then it was time to open the presents! Elsie was really good at not just tearing into the gifts, but waiting for her daddy to read the card first and then being told it was okay.

And all the kids were sooo well behaved this time! No one crowded the birthday girl, blocking everyone else's view, but instead sat in a line just watching. Only one time did they all get up on their knees excited to see her new laptop computer.

Trying to get the ribbon off on her own, but did eventually need a little help from Daddy.

And what was in that big box? A new baby doll and her pet dog! Don't worry, I am not going to make you look at all the gifts! lol

Next, it was time for cake and ice cream! Because the theme was Ice Cream Social, I decided against making a big cake, but instead made ice cream cake pops and cake balls to go with the ice cream bar.

and cake balls. Elsie had lots of girly colors to choose from, but chose the blue!

Blowing out her candle!

Next year is her big family and friends party for her 5th and she is already planning her guest list and party activities. I am guessing I might have a future party planner!
