My mom sent out circus themed evites and then the guest were greeted at the front door with this sign.
We rearranged the dining room and hung streamers up on the ceiling to kinda resemble the top of a circus tent. Kinda? Since my dad is a huge circus fan, he has a lot of old posters that we found and used around the house. Our color theme was red, white and blue with a splash of yellow.
Of course the food was anything you could buy at the circus! Nachos, hot dogs, lemonade, corn on the cob, etc.
We had a treat/sweet table and we filled it with popcorn, cotton candy, soft pretzels, peanuts, etc. See the snow cones on the table there? They are actually cupcakes made to look like snow cones! My mom said they were a huge pain in the butt to make and they definitely fooled a few of the kids. lol
A few pictures of the guest of honor and his guests. My dad is the guy on the right and my cousin, Dustin, is the younger one on the left.
Dustin's wife, Marla, talking with her father-in-laws friend. While Elsie hams it up for the camera.
My mom, Elsie and Karen.
Seth, Grace and Elsie. You can see Elsie loves the camera and tries to be in as many pictures possible, while Grace decided smiling just wasn't cool! tee-hee
Uncle Doug holding my niece, Lauren.
Bruce and Danny have known my parents since I was a little girl and there's my baby brother.
There were lots more family members present, a neighbor and a couple from my parents bible study group. It was a beautiful day and one I am sure my dad will treasure for the rest of his life.
